WEST PALM BEACH --- The Economic Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. in partnership with  the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, Inc. is  pleased to announce the thirty finalists for the 32nd Annual William T. Dwyer Awards for Excellence in Education.  The recipients will be announced and all finalists, nominees, and past recipients honored at the Dwyer Awards ceremony, presented by The Hanley Center Foundation, to be held on Thursday, April 21 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.  The event begins at 5:30 p.m.  Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at www.TheDwyerAwards.com.

“This year the Economic Council’s  Dwyer Awards committee through sponsorship by LRP Communications and its Foundation for Education Technology Conference, added a new category, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), and is excited to announce receiving a record number of applications from schools throughout Palm Beach County, notes Mary-Suzanne Powell, Dwyer Awards Chairwoman.  “Each year we are proud to showcase Palm Beach County’s  most outstanding teachers, and this year is no exception.” 

The Dwyer Awards, an annual program developed and supported by the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, honors outstanding educators from public and private schools in Palm Beach County, increases awareness of the exemplary teaching in our community, supports educators with financial awards and encourages all residents to promote high standards for excellence in education.  The Economic Council of Palm Beach County is comprised of business leaders who are committed to educational excellence as a key tenet for creating an environment for business to prosper.
